Assistant Kitchen Production β Part-Time, Seasonal
ATINA FOODS in Catskill NY, is looking for a passionate and organized individual to join our kitchen team! This is a part-time, seasonal position with the potential for growth and long-term opportunities.

Duration: 6 months (April β October, with a possible start as early as March)
π Schedule: 2β3 days per week
π° Pay: $18 per hour
Who We are Looking For:
We seek someone who loves food and local harvest, and is eager to learn traditional food preservation techniques and the process of making shelf-stable products professionally. The ideal candidate has experience working in a kitchen, is confident using kitchen tools, and understands how to maintain a clean, organized workspace.
We will provide training on fermentation and acidified food preservation methods.
Our kitchen in located in Catskill town (Kiskatom), about 15 minutes from either Catskill village or Saugerties village and close to Palenville.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in food production, including fermentation and shelf-stable product preparation. Production includes; preparation of produce and space, cooking, filling jars, hot bathing jars.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
Keep clear and accurate records of inventory, sourcing, and production.
Take detailed production notes and track critical factors.
Support in developing efficient systems to streamline workflow and see when they may be needed.
Monitor material usage that assist with cost analysis.
Label products, clean jars, and perform other packaging-related tasks.
Train to oversee production with the goal of independently managing the kitchen in the future.
Requirements:
Able to stay focused and to complete tasks thoroughly.
Detail-oriented, yet can see the bigger picture to completion.
Calm under pressure in a kitchen environment.
Enjoys organizing tasks and mapping out workflows.
Previous experience in a professional kitchen, food production, or CPG (consumer packaged goods).
Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment (specific training will be provided).
Understanding of kitchen maintenance and cleaning protocols.
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and work on your feet for 6β8 hours at a time.
Good listening skills, with retention of information.
Quick, efficient, and thorough with hands-on work.
Problem-solving skills and ability to create new systems as needed.
Reliable transportation.
Dependable and eager to learn.
Growth Opportunities:
This role has the potential to evolve into a Kitchen Manager position, where responsibilities would include:
Running production independently.
Sourcing local and imported materials.
Conducting cost analysis and product development (R&D).
Communicating with processing authorities.
